We currently release 1,000 rooster-hen combinations in the Iroquois, De Smet, Lake Preston areas. This is done through our membership program.
On the Saturday night of South Dakota's Opening weekend of Pheasant Season (or the third Saturday in October). The Prairie Lakes Pheasant Club hosts our annual banquet. We average around 30-40 guns are given away that evening through either: Raffles, Games, Auctions, etc. This is a fun night where a family can enjoy a great meal, fun games all of this to support a local non-profit .
The USA High School Clay Target League is a division of the USA Clay Target League – a non-profit corporation. The League is the independent provider of clay target shooting sports as an extracurricular co-ed and adaptive activity for high schools and students in grades 6 through 12. The League’s priority are safety, fun, and marksmanship – in that order.
Prairie Lakes Pheasant Club
Prairie Lakes Pheasant Club was started in 1992. Since that time the Pheasant Club has been very active in raising conservation of the local pheasant population. We are a local organization that helps the pheasant population in our local area (Lake Preston, De Smet, Iroquois). Prairie Lakes Pheasant Club is dedicated to assisting in getting our youth interested in hunting, conservation, and shooting by supporting the High School Clay Target teams in Lake Preston-Iroquois, and De Smet teams. Assisting the South Dakota Game, Fish, and Parks in HuntSAFE program, and by releasing pheasants to assist the population in growth. This is all done through the hard work and dedicated efforts of our board members, general members, corporate sponsors, and all that attend our annual banquet.
